  • Fun for Friday: The Big Pink Book of Prompts, “It’s Funny …”

Time to share what I did with prompt 3 from the Big Pink Book! I’m not much of a puns person, so I took the “It’s funny” prompt and came up with some first sentences connected to that. Even though there were 20 dots on the page, I only wrote 10 sentences, since some took

  • The Big Pink Book Prompt 3: It’s Funny …

The third prompt in the Big Pink Book is another list-making prompt, this time themed around some puns and an intro of “It’s funny.” The puns, in the stickers to the right, are: “You are deer to me,” “Love you a latte!,” “That’s bananas” (with the bananas as an image), “No Prob-llama,” and “Donut worry.

  • Fun for Friday: June 2026 Writing Prompts!

We’re already to the last weekend of May, which means it’s time for the June 2026 writing prompts! This month, the first column comes from Doodlewash’s June 2017 World Watercolor Group prompt list. This list is very themed toward summertime and very normal. • “Knock Three Times” in Chimerical Remembrance

“Knock Three Times” is one of the longer stories in my Chimerical Remembrance collection. It was inspired by a YouTube video about weird history, some interesting images, and a song I love. The YouTube video was about the history of Pheasant Island, which is an uninhabited island in the Bidasoa River between France and Spain that

  • “It’s My Party and I’ll Scry If I Want To” and “No Bunny Like You” in Weathering Youth

Because Weathering Youth is my biggest collection to date, I’m grouping the short stories and flash fiction stories in pairs for my posts, based on the way they fall in the collection. This lets me look at the connections between the stories and how I decided to arrange specific stories in the collection! “It’s My Party and
